TYPES FOR A TRIP


Several tourist or cycling routes intersect just below the guest - house, and they take you to some pilgrimage places, to the places well – known by their tramp history, along the stream, through the mills to the Berounka river and farther.

The village, which lives its free and a calm life, trepans into the rest and lounge. There is a restaurant just in the residential structure and some others are in the near surroundings, for example in Nouzov, where a set has been arisen from one part of the former pub „U Spalů“, and so you can meet some famous faces of the show business there.

Also the guest - house LIKA – in those days as a shop of the „Jednota“ – played in the Czech film called „Báječná léta pod psa“(Wonderful years not to be worth a damn)

Unfortunately, the village is situated on the hill and that ´s for the nearest swimming is possible in the Berounka river (8km), at the natural bathing place in Prague Džbán (20km) or in Kladno, in one of the largest aqua parks in the Czech Republic (10km). Bus transport assures direct connection with Prague, Kladno and Beroun. There is a closed car park at the guest house for cars, and for sportsmen and their equipment there are also prepared the lockable boxes. As mentioned above, there is a restaurant in the residential structure of the guest – house, where it is possible to assure boarding after an agreement, and also local mixed shop with things for daily use.

The other types:
LÁNY (cca. 20 km)
Originally a small hunter chateau, built for Rudolf II. after 1592, at the place of the mediaeval citadel. Rebuilt by the Valdštejns in 1730. In 1747-52 the separate chapel was attached to the habitation part. During the Fürstenbergs era in the 19th century, it enlarged significantly. As the state chateau (since 1918) adapted in 1929 by J. Plečnik to the summer residence of the president T.G.Masaryk.
HRAD KARLŠTEJN (cca. 30 km) KARLSTEIN CASTLE
A Gothic castle founded in1348 by the emperor Charles IV. For safe placing of imperial regalia and valuable relics. Rebuilt in Renaissance era by O. Avostallis da Sala. At the end of the 19th century rebuilt significantly by J. Mocker in the pseudo – Gothic style.
HRAD KŘIVOKLÁT (cca. 30 km) KŘIVOKLÁT CASTLE
A large, royal Gothic castle, originally a hunter castle of the Přemysl dynasty, rebuilt at the end of the15th century for Vladislav Jagellonský. In the 16th century it was a prison. In 1643 it burnt down, and it was restored by turn of the19th and 20th centuries by J. Mocker and K. Hilbert for the Fürstenbergs.
KONĚPRUSKÉ JESKYNĚ (cca. 25 km) KONĚPRUSKÉ CAVES
Koněpruské caves are situated in the central Bohemia 7 km south from Beroun in the protected area “Český kras“- Czech Karst not far from Křivoklát and Karlstein castles. They were discovered in 1950 and in 1959 opened for the public. They originated in Devonian limestones, 400 million years old. They are developed in three vertical levels with the levelling more than 70 m. Their total length overreaches 2 km, enabled route is ca 590 m long and the visit takes about1 hour. On the upper floor there was a secret coiners ´ workshop in the15the century. The caves are unique by their opal decoration and paleontological finds documenting the development of the nature during the last 1.5 million years.
 
PRAHA (cca. 20 km)
CHARLES BRIDGE
Charles bridge is the oldest preserved Prague bridge. Founded by the emperor Charles IV. in 1357, at the place of the Romanesque Judita ´s bridge from the 12th century, destroyed by the flood. The builders of the bridge were Petr Parler and master Jan Ottl in the Decorated Style. The length of the bridge, finished in 1402, is 520 m and its width is 10 m. Between 1683 and 1928 the bridge was decorated with thirty sculptures of the saints at the attendance of the main sculptors of Prague Baroque era: Jan and Ferdinand Max Brokoff, Matyáš Braun, Matěj Václav Jäckl and so on.
PRAGUE CASTLE
A huge complex of castle palaces and sacred buildings with complicated building and historic development. Already in the 9th century it was situated a Slavonic citadel there. The first members of the Přemysl dynasty (Bořivoj, Vratislav I., Václav) founded several sacred buildings there. Large reconstruction of the Castle was realised in the 12th century in Romanesque style and under Charles IV.´s rule, in the Gothic style. The Castle became an important cultural centre under Rudolf II.´s rule and farther reconstructions were realized under Marie Terezie ´s rule. After that it lost its importance, which was renewed in 1918, when the Castle became the residence of the Czechoslovak presidents. After 1945 the Castle was declared as a national cultural sight.
OLD TOWN HALL
The Old Town Hall arose as a symbol of the autonomy of the first Prague town in1338 and during farther centuries its area enlarged gradually, up to the present shape. The astronomical clock is unique there, its first astronomical-astrological part comes already from 1410.
NATIONAL THEATRE
The corner – stone of the National Theatre was laid in 1868. The theatre was opened temporarily in 1881. In the same year, on 12 August, it burnt down. It was reopened in 1883. Built in new Renaissance style according to the designs of Josef Zítek and Josef Schulz. Important contemporary artists were given the job of decorating the new theatre.
NATIONAL MUSEUM
Monumental new Renaissance building was built in1885-1890 according to the design of J. Schulz. The forefront is more than 100 m long, in front of it there is a ramp, decorated with cast – iron luminous lamp posts and group of allegorical figures.
PETŘÍN OUTLOOK – TOWER
An iron tower, 60 m high, was built by F. Prášil after the impulse of the Club of Czech tourists, in the frame of the Jubilee exhibition in 1891, as a free copy of Parisian Eiffel ´s tower. The outlook tower is ca 5 times smaller than its French pattern. Glazed sight - seeing gallery is on the height of 53m and there are 299 steps heading for it. There is a breathtaking view from it, not only of Prague, but also of broad surroundings. Construction of the tower was made in the bridge building works of "the First Czech and Moravian engineering shop“ in Prague and its weight is170 tons.
ZOO
The Zoo in Prague was founded in1931by prof. Jiří Janda and the architectonic features come from J. Fuchs. The Zoo belongs to the youngest zoos in the European capitals. In summer and winter seasons, regular feeding, commented exercise of the animals and many other actions are prepared there for the visitors.
